Margaret River may be best known for its Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, but Cape Mentelle's Shiraz is a compelling reminder that this premium Western Australian region has much more to offer. One of the founding estates of the Margaret River wine region, Cape Mentelle has been crafting benchmark wines since 1970, and this Shiraz is a beautifully refined expression of the estate's winemaking philosophy.

The wine opens with a vibrant core of blueberry, mulberry and hints of raspberry, lifted by subtle floral notes and a thread of white pepper spice. On the palate it is fine, elegant and focused — medium to full-bodied with well-integrated cocoa and savoury oak that adds depth without weight. The finish is long and precise, with chalky, structural tannins that give the wine excellent cellaring potential.
