Penfolds Grandfather Rare Tawny is a South Australian fortified wine made from Grenache, Shiraz and Muscadelle. Produced by Penfolds in the Barossa Valley, the Grandfather undergoes extended barrel maturation averaging 20 years to develop its tawny amber colour, rancio complexity and dried fruit character.

It has a deep tawny amber colour with an olive rim. Aromas include raisins, prunes, toffee, walnut and oak. The palate features dried fig, butterscotch and spice, with a long, warming finish.
