Wild Oats Shiraz is an award-winning contemporary Australian red from the renowned Oatley family vineyards in Mudgee, NSW. In less than a decade, this range has achieved remarkable success with multiple awards, critical acclaim, and a devoted following across Australia.
Tasting Notes
This supple, rounded Shiraz showcases appealing plummy dark fruits with a touch of spice and subtle oak integration. The palate delivers generous ripe fruit flavours balanced by smooth tannins and a lingering finish. French oak plays a supportive role, enhancing rather than dominating the wine's natural fruit expression.
Winemaking
Crafted from select parcels of Mudgee fruit, the grapes were cold soaked for 2-3 days to extract colour and flavour, then fermented at moderate temperatures. After gentle extraction over 10-14 days, the wine was matured for 12 months in French oak before careful blending and bottling.
Food Pairing
A fine partner to richer flavoured red meat dishes including grilled T-bone steak, braised beef short ribs, or roasted lamb rack. Also pairs well with hearty pasta dishes, aged cheddar, or char-grilled sausages at your next barbecue.
